To view Events, click the navigation menu icon in the portal header, and then click the Settings icon
. On the Settings page, click Users and Security > Configuration.
Using the Configuration tab, you can configure your CMC portal to monitor the failed login attempts and alert the CMC admin users. You can also restrict CMC portal access by specifying the IP addresses that have permission to access the CMC portal.
To start monitoring failed login attempts and alerting users, set the Alerts Configuration slider to Enabled. By default, this feature is disabled.
Threshold
Specify the number of login attempts and the duration for these attempts, after which you want to be alerted. For example, if you specify 5 in the Number of Attempts field and 2 in the Duration field, you will be alerted when 5 or more failed login attempts are made in 2 minutes.
The default values for these fields are 10 attempts in 5 minutes. You can change the default threshold values. The new values are automatically saved.
Select the method by which CMC admin users will be alerted.
- Notify all CMC admin users through email Upon reaching the threshold, an email is sent to the registered email address of all CMC admin users.
- Notify all CMC admin users who have subscribed to notifications Upon reaching the threshold, an email and text message are sent only to those CMC admin users who have subscribed to notifications.
To subscribe to email and text notifications, click the Notifications icon, then click the Settings icon
, and then specify an email address and a phone number.
Important: The failed login alerts are also available as in-app notifications. To enable in-app notifications, click the Notifications icon , then click the Settings icon
, and then set the In-App Notifications slider to Enabled. The failed login notifications are visible in Notifications > User Access.
IP Allowlist
Use this feature to restrict the IP addresses that can access the CMC portal. To enable this feature , complete the following steps:
- Set the IP Allowlist slider to Enabled. The Add IP Address dialog box is automatically displayed, and your current IP address is displayed in the Starting IP Address and Ending IP Address fields.
- To add this current IP address, click Add IP. Alternatively, you can either update the fields to enter a range of IP addresses or add multiple IP addresses at a time by uploading a CSV file. The CSV file can have a maximum of 200 rows.
Important: You must specify IP addresses in IPv4 format. Before uploading the file, the IP addresses specified in the CSV file are verified. If the IP addresses are not in IPv4 format, the CSV file is not uploaded.
The added IP addresses are displayed in the table. After you enable this feature, your CMC portal will be inaccessible to any IP address that is not in the IP Allowlist. You can add multiple IP addresses and IP address ranges by clicking the Add IP List button.
Note: When you click the Select All checkbox in the IP Allowlist table header, all IP addresses that are in the table are selected. To select all IP addresses shown only on the current page, you must manually select them.
