You can view and search only for inventory resources that you have permission to view.
The Full Inventory > Partitions and Virtual I/O Servers tab displays a list of logical partitions, and Virtual I/O Servers that are available in your environment. To restrict the data that you want to view, use the data type filters that are listed in the Filter by area. You can filter the information based on the partition type, OS version, serial number, and Resource Monitoring and Control (RMC) state. You can also search for a logical partition or a Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) by specifying the search string in the Search field. If you search for inventory information about a logical partition, the result displays the following information:
- state of logical partition
- location of the logical partition
- type of logical partition
- operating system version of the logical partition (RMC should be active for the logical partition to reflect the correct OS version in CMC.)
- name of the managed system that is associated with the logical partition
- RMC state of the logical partition
- serial number of the managed system that is associated with the logical partition
- name and version of the Hardware Management Console (HMC) or virtual HMC (vHMC) that is associated with the managed system
A green circle icon indicates a good state of the logical partition or VIOS; whereas a red triangle icon indicates a bad state. Hover the mouse over the icon to view the state for a resource.
You can also group resources in this view by assigning them to predefined tag groups. . Select the resource that you want to assign to a tag and click Add a Tag. Select a tag from a list of tags that is displayed, and click Apply. To manage tags or view all resources that are assigned to a tag, click Manage Tags.
