You can view the information about the hardware that is associated with the managed system.
On the Full Inventory > Managed Systems and HMCs tab, click the information icon () corresponding to the managed system. The Advanced Information pane displays inventory information such as processor and memory, I/O adapters, power supplies, forced air networks (FANs), resource groups, and shared processor pools. Click each tab to view the details.
The Processor and Memory tab displays information about the managed system's processors including installed processing units, configurable processing units, and current processing units available for use. You can also view the information about the managed system's memory including installed memory, configurable memory, and current memory available for use.
The I/O tab lists the physical I/O resources for the selected managed system. Expand an I/O adapter to view information about various devices that are connected to the I/O adapter.
Note: Devices within the I/O adapters are displayed only if the I/O recording data is collected for the managed system.
The Power Supplies tab lists the modular power supplies for the selected managed system. You can also view information for each power supply including its location code, description, field replacement unit (FRU) number, serial number, state, and health.
The FANs tab lists the forced air networks for the selected managed system. You can also view information for each FAN including its location code, description, field replacement unit (FRU) number, serial number, state, and health.
The power supply and FAN information along with its status and health is displayed if the HMC is at Version 8 Release 8.6.0 Service Pack 2 and if the managed system firmware level is FW860 SP3, or later.
The Resource Groups tab lists the resource groups configured in the selected managed system. The table on the tab displays the following information about each resource group:
- Name
- Affinity priority
- The number of cores available for use
- Total number of cores assigned to that resource group
- The shared processor pools that belong to the resource group
- The number of logical partitions assigned
The Shared Processor Pool tab lists the shared processor pools that exist for the selected managed system. Expand a shared processor pool to view the logical partitions that are assigned to the pool. You can also view the information about the number of processing units that are reserved for temporary use, the maximum number of processing units that the logical partitions can use, and the number of processing units that are available for use.
