You can classify all the inventory resources within the IBM® Cloud Management Console for Power Systems™ into groups by creating tags. You can group managed systems, management consoles, partitions, and Virtual I/O Servers. You can also modify and delete existing tags.
- To tag a resource, select the resource, and then select the required tag from the Add a Tag list.
- To create a new tag, type the name of the tag, and click Create New Tag. The new tag is created and added to the selected resource.
- To rename or delete a tag, click Manage Tags from the Add a Tag list. The Manage Tags page that is available in the Inventory app opens. You can rename or delete the tags that are listed on this page. The Reserved tags that are available for use by the Enterprise Pools 2.0 app are shown at the top of the page. These tags cannot be renamed or deleted.
- Renaming a tag:
- Select the tag that you want to rename and click Rename under Actions to edit the name of the tag. Once done, click Save.
- Deleting a tag:
- To delete an unwanted tag, click Delete under Actions next to the tag you want to delete. All the associated resources will be removed from the tag and the tag will be permanently deleted. A message is displayed stating the confirmation of the deletion with the text box prompting for the tag name. To delete the tag, enter the tag name and click Confirm. If you enter a wrong tag name or an invalid tag name, an error is displayed stating that the entered name must match with the existing tag name that is selected for deletion.

The function sounds very interesting. But unfortunately you have to maintain it manually on all HMC.
I have the following questions about this:
Why is it not possible to keep this in sync across different HMCs via Data Replication?
Are the group tags backed up with Backup Console Data?
Best Regards,
Udo
Hi Udo,
The tag function in CMC is different than the tag/group function in HMC. Tags set in CMC are used across apps like Inventory/Capacity Monitoring.
Thanks.
