HMC versions later than HMC942, for example V9 R2 and later, include the issuer certificate DigiCert Global Root G3 in the trust store by default. However, older HMC versions do not include this issuer certificate. If you receive a certificate chaining error for DigiCert Global Root G3, or if these older HMC versions manage any systems in a Power Enterprise Pool 2.0, you have two options:
- Update the HMC to a supported level.
- Get the certificate updated by opening a support ticket against Cloud Management Console.
See the HMC support page (https://esupport.ibm.com/customercare/flrt/liteTable?prodKey=hmc) for the levels that are currently in support.
Important: Older version HMCs are unable to renew the Power Enterprise Pool 2.0 membership CoD codes for systems in a pool. These CoD codes must be renewed every 90 days. If the CoD code on a system expires, that system will immediately be throttled back to its base core capacity. To determine when the CoD code for a system expires, locate the event “System X is authorized for 90 (additional) days” in the CMC EP 2.0 app Event Log, and add 90 days to the date the event was logged.
