- PowerHA SystemMirror license entitlements are now enabled as base and metered capacity resources in an Enterprise Pool 2.0. For details about this enhancement, see Support for Licensed Program Products in EP 2.0.
- Virtual Serial Numbers (VSN) are now supported for IBM i partitions on systems in an Enterprise Pool 2.0. IBM i OS and IBM i PowerHA SystemMirror license entitlements associated with VSNs assigned to partitions in a pool are added to the base resources for the pool. For details about this new feature, see Virtual Serial Number (VSN) and IBM i Software Tier Support.
- IBM i OS usage within an Enterprise Pool 2.0 is now tracked and metered by software tier (P10, P20, or P30). IBM i OS usage that exceeds the base for the corresponding IBM i software tier can use the base of a higher software tier if that base is not in use by IBM i partitions with that software tier. For example, unused base IBM i P30 tier licenses can be used to offset P20 and P10 software tier usage, in that order. A mix of Power S1022, Power S1024, Power S922, and Power S924 servers with processors requiring P10, P20 or P30 tiers of IBM i license entitlement can now be deployed within the same Enterprise Pool 2.0 without having to acquire all base IBM i license entitlements at the highest tier within the pool.
- The latest Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Power subscriptions are supported as base and metered capacity resources in an Enterprise Pool 2.0 when purchased as Licensed Program Products (PIDs) with required features from IBM or an authorized IBM Business Partner.
- A system can be added to an Enterprise Pool 2.0 only if the system and the pool belong to the same enterprise. CoD codes for a system already in a pool will be renewed only if the system and the pool belong to the same enterprise. All systems in an Enterprise Pool 2.0 have always been required to be in the same enterprise, and now this requirement is enforced.
- Only a single system can now be selected when creating an Enterprise Pool 2.0 or adding systems to a pool. If you have multiple systems to add, after your pool is created, you must perform Add System for each one. This is a temporary restriction that will be removed in a future release.
- A new version, v2, is introduced for the public APIs. The v2 APIs return information about VSNs and PowerHA SystemMirror information along with all the information that is returned by v1 APIs. It is recommended that you use the v2 APIs. For details about the new and updated public APIs, see CMC API.
- New public APIs have been added to gather CMC performance usage data for the managed system and its partitions. For information about these new APIs, see the following articles:
- CMC now supports the Microsoft Edge browser. Other supported browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari.
- Logging data that is older than one year is now periodically purged and hence any operations that occurred more than one year ago might not be available in the Logging app.
