The following updates have been made in this release:
- In this release of CMC, dedicated processor partitions are supported in EP 2.0. Budgeting is not enforced for pools that allow dedicated processor partitions.
Dedicated partition support in a Power Enterprise Pool 2.0 requires Power Systems Firmware level FW950 and HMC version 9.2.950. Whether or not a Power Enterprise Pool 2.0 allows dedicated processor partitions is a configuration option that is selected at pool creation time in CMC. Pools that exist prior to this update do not have dedicated processor partition support.
See https://ibmcmc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038760214-Minimum-system-firmware-level-required for additional considerations. - A single Power Enterprise Pool 2.0 now supports up to 1500 partitions across up to 48 Power systems.
- You can select a filter to determine which partitions in a pool are displayed. The filter also affects the pool usage and system usage that are displayed. With this update you can filter by the following additional operating system types, which replace the existing Linux filter:
- RHEL
- SLES
- Other Linux
The ability to identify Linux partitions as running the RHEL or SLES operating system requires HMC version 9.2.950 and an active RMC connection between the HMC and the Linux partitions.
