CMC Migration and Portal Access Announcements: Reminder

CMC Migration

The Cloud Management Console V1.18.0 release included the migration from the IBM Cloud Foundry to the IBM Code Engine app. Because of this migration, your CMC URL has changed.

• Old CMC URL: https://XYZ-powercloud.mybluemix.net or
  https://XYZ-powercloud.<region>.mybluemix.net.
• New CMC URL: https://XYZ.powercmc.com.

The end date for using the old CMC URL and the old Cloud Connector start command is 31 March 2023.

What do you need to change?

If you are using either the old CMC URL, the old Cloud Connector start command, or both, complete the following steps:

1. Change your firewall settings to allow access to the FQDN of the new CMC URL shown on the Settings -> Cloud Connector -> Firewall configuration page.
2. Use the new CMC URL to connect to CMC.
3. Restart Cloud Connector with the new key shown on Settings -> Cloud Connector -> Cloud Connector Startup Command page on all your HMCs.

CMC Portal Access

The migration of an internal authentication gateway is planned in April 2023. This gateway authenticates the users who access CMC portal through a web browser.

Do you need to make changes?

To determine whether you need to make any changes, test your access to the URL of the new authentication gateway by clicking the following link: https://blueid.powercmc.com/.

• If the web page displays Welcome, no action is needed from you.
• If you are unable to access this URL, you need to change firewall settings, proxy settings, or both to allow access to the FQDN of this URL.

When must you make this change?

Add the URL of the new authentication gateway to the list of permitted URLs before April 2023.

What is the impact of this change?

If the firewall or proxy settings in your environment have not been updated for the new URL, you might not be able to access your CMC portal. However, this change does not affect the following services:

• Cloud connector
• CMC APIs
• Data collector
• Enterprise Pools 2.0

No HMC changes are required.
