The following updates have been made in this release:
- The CMC Migration Announcement: Update (https://ibmcmc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/11069529284371-CMC-Migration-Announcement-Update) provides important information about the migration from the IBM Cloud Foundry to the IBM Code Engine. Please take a moment to review this update if you have not already done so.
- The CMC API Base URL (described in https://ibmcmc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406988794259-CMC-API) will change when CMC V1.18.0 is deployed. If you use the CMC APIs, keep the following considerations in mind:
- It is recommended that you securely save the API Base URL that you are using in your current API calls. You do not need to save your client ID or the client secret, they are not changing.
- Prior to 31 March 2023, no other immediate action is required.
- After V1.18.0 is deployed, you can use either your saved API Base URL or the new API Base URL. Only the new API Base URL will be displayed in CMC.
- The end date for the use of the current API Base URL is 31 March 2023.
- You can tag a Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform control node partition with the reserved tag Control Plane Node, which stops software metering for the partition in Power Enterprise Pools 2.0. If you use this reserved tag, keep the following considerations in mind:
- The Control Plane Node tag is available only for RHEL CoreOS partitions.
- You can assign and remove the Control Plane Node tag only from the Power Enterprise Pools 2.0 app. However, you can view and filter on this tag in other CMC apps. When the Control Plane Node tag is added or removed, the Power Enterprise Pools 2.0 event log is updated.
- If you remove the Control Plane Node tag from a partition, software metering for that partition is resumed.
- The Control Plane Node tag name is reserved; you cannot rename or delete it.
- If a tag with the name Control Plane Node already existed, it is renamed to Control Plane Node – not reserved.
- CMC now supports Power Enterprise Pools 2.0 that you have converted from prepaid to monthly billing. Note the following changes in the UI for these converted pools:
- Remaining Credit Balance is replaced with Month-To-Date Credits Used.
- The Purchase Credits button is not shown.
- Credit history is displayed only for the data that existed before you converted the pool.
- CMC now supports 4000 LPARs per pool and CMC instance, and 64 systems per pool. The Minimum system firmware level required page (https://ibmcmc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038760214-Minimum-system-firmware-level-required) is updated with this information.
- Two new IBM Cloud regions are supported: Tokyo Japan, and Sao Paulo Brazil.
- The Capacity Monitoring performance graph now includes an 8-hour frequency. Last 8 Hours is now the default.
